About Us

Set amongst the rooftops of Bristol’s historic Old City, The Radnor Rooms is a spacious private hire venue that has been stylishly restored with an elegant yet relaxed feel. Complete with an outdoor roof terrace and fully stocked bar, this unique space is an ideal location for all sorts of events – from weddings and parties, to corporate events, photoshoots and filming.

A special place in Bristol’s history

The building’s rich history goes back to the 1920s when it operated as a thriving pub and hotel. Known as The Radnor Hotel, it’s believed that it was the first pub in Bristol to cater to a gay and lesbian clientele.

In its run from 1925 to 1970, the pub’s austere and unassuming outside disguised a raucous and decadent hangout attracting prominent performers from the Bristol Old Vic and Hippodrome. Regulars included drag artist Danny La Rue, actor Anton Walbrook, and American soldiers stationed in Bristol during the Second World War.

Lovingly restored

In more recent times, the historic building has been lovingly restored and turned into a unique and eclectic city centre events venue, reinvigorating the building’s spirit as a hub for creatives with neighbouring businesses like popular music venue Mr Wolfs and Old City Studio recording studio.

A hidden gem amongst the rooftops of Bristol’s Old City, our unique venue features original cornicing, chandeliers, sash windows and exposed brick walls. We have a private enclosed terrace, with a fully-stocked outdoor bar and kitchen for all our in-house catering. Quirky details such as stained-glass windows and a working fireplace for the cooler nights help create the ideal setting for all sorts of events.

Just downstairs from The Radnor Rooms is Mr Wolfs, a popular music venue at the heart of Bristol’s independent scene. There’s live music every night of the week and some of Bristol’s best DJs playing into the early hours – it’s the ideal spot for those that want to keep the night going.
